What this connection unlocks
Use selected project, budget, contract, change, and direct-cost tables for repeatable project reporting.
Map the Procore project and cost code to the corresponding finance records. Review unmatched records before combining totals.
Keep the source references, cutoff, and cost definition alongside a dashboard result so an owner can inspect a discrepancy.
| Source records | Reporting use |
|---|---|
| Companies, projects, vendors, and cost codes | Identify the project and counterparties before comparing records across systems. |
| Budget views, details, summaries, and changes | Use a named budget view and distinguish revised budget from posted cost. |
| Contracts, purchase orders, direct costs, and change orders | Compare commitments and costs using an approved reporting definition. |
| RFIs, submittals, inspections, and field records | Add operational context where the authorized project tools provide records. |
A company administrator installs the Procore Data Connection App and grants the required projects. The connection uses a Developer Managed Service Account (DMSA) and application credentials; production access requires the applicable Procore approval.
Review the requested tool permissions and project list with the administrator. A broad service-account grant is not a substitute for deciding which records belong in the Permute workspace. Start with one project and verify the selected tables before expanding.
Reports reflect the latest completed connector refresh, not every edit in Procore. Compare source effective dates with the reporting cutoff and inspect refresh failures before publishing a cost comparison.
This connector reads Procore. It does not write approved budgets, invoices, or change orders back to Procore or an ERP, and it does not remove dual entry between those systems. Write synchronization requires a separately supported and approved workflow.
Synthetic worked example
Synthetic September 30 example: project P100, cost code 03-300, USD. Both sources describe posted actual cost, exclude commitments, and use the same cutoff. Mapping the labels alone would not establish that comparable definition.
| Source | Project / cost code | Posted actual cost |
|---|---|---|
| Procore direct costs | P100 / 03-300 | $180,000 |
| Finance export | JOB100 / CONCRETE | $175,000 |
The $5,000 difference remains an exception until the owner identifies the unmatched transaction or timing issue. Preserve both source references; do not silently replace one total or treat an unrefreshed finance export as current.
