Manufacturing planning

Custom SIOP software for planning reviews

Bring sales, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP) into a shared review workspace. Permute connects ERP records, demand plans, and production inputs so you can compare product families, investigate constraints, and trace the figures behind a proposed commitment. Build with your team or have our engineers build and maintain the application.

The working view

Review the plan with its constraints in view

Compare your demand plan with eligible stock, confirmed inbound materials, and available capacity by product family and period. Show which assumptions changed, who owns an unresolved gap, and when each source was updated. Finance can use the same quantities and dates to compare service, margin, and cash exposure.

What makes it work

Match items and units across sources

Reconcile SKU aliases, product-family mappings, and pack sizes across orders, stock, and planning sheets. Conflicting mappings stay visible so they cannot inflate available supply.

Use agreed planning definitions

Apply declared rules for available, reserved, and held stock, confirmed receipts, and reporting periods. A shared resource keeps one capacity balance across the families that use it.

Trace changes before committing

Show the source records, applied rules, and freshness behind a changed figure. Scoped views let sales, operations, and finance inspect the evidence their roles permit.

How it works

From planning inputs to a repeatable review

  1. 01

    Connect the review inputs

Start with one product family and review period. Bring its demand plan, inventory position, material confirmations, capacity assumptions, and financial inputs into one workspace.

  2. 02

    Reconcile the assumptions

Align item identities, units, dates, and source precedence. Flag held stock, unconfirmed receipts, and overlapping capacity assumptions for the responsible owner.

  3. 03

    Publish the working view

Build a dashboard or custom app with family-level comparisons and an exception queue. Refresh the declared calculations as inputs change, keeping evidence beside each result.

Why build on Permute

Build on a foundation each new tool can reuse.

Permute connects systems, reconciles records, and keeps business definitions and source evidence in one place. Each application reuses that foundation (including its data access rules) instead of rebuilding the same integrations and logic.

Build with your own team through Permute's API and SDK, or work with our engineers to build and maintain the application. Permute-hosted apps use Permute sign-in and app access checks. Each app checks which business data a person may see before returning it.

Built for this workflow

Support the SIOP decision with governed inputs

Permute supplies the reconciled data and review workspace beneath your planning process. Demand forecasts and production schedules remain in your planning tools; planners own assumptions and commitments. This workflow reads connected records for analysis and does not release purchase orders or production jobs into an ERP.

Questions teams ask

Can we keep our current planning spreadsheets?

Yes. Use Excel or Google Sheets for demand and capacity inputs alongside ERP records. Define which sheet and version are approved for each period so an old plan does not replace the current one.

Does Permute generate the demand forecast?

Permute is not a forecasting engine. It prepares governed inputs and compares the forecast supplied by your planning tools with stock, materials, capacity, and finance records.

Can we include contract manufacturer data?

Include supplied production exports and dated capacity confirmations through connected files or an agreed integration. Requested and reserved capacity need separate definitions, and missing confirmations remain visible for review.

Can we use ChatGPT or Claude alongside the workspace?

Yes. Permute can expose governed data to your preferred AI tools through permissioned connections. Questions use the same definitions and source evidence as the review, with access limited to the approved data.
