- An Attio workspace admin to authorize the connection.
1. Add Attio in Permute
In your workspace, open Connectors, select Add Connector, choose Attio, and name the account.
2. Authorize Attio
- Select Connect with OAuth.
An Attio workspace admin must authorize Permute. The connection uses a workspace token with the approved app scopes.
Select Connect with OAuth in Permute. The setup screen does not ask you to create or paste an Attio API key.
Understand the access request
Attio uses permissions for records and object configuration. For example, reading deal records requires record read access and object configuration read access. The data available to a connection depends on the access granted during authorization.
If the expected CRM data is absent, check the required scopes and the source records in Attio.
3. Check the first result
- Choose a known record in the Attio workspace used for OAuth.
- Note its object and attribute; if the value is on a list, note that list too.

How Attio organizes records

Account for custom objects
Attio includes standard objects and lets teams define custom objects for their own work. A custom object can have attributes and relationships to other objects. Its name and fields come from that workspace’s data model, so another Attio workspace may look different.
If a team refers to a custom deal stage or other field, first locate the object and attribute in the connected Attio workspace. Check whether the value lives on an object record or a list entry.

Permute uses a workspace token. Its approved scopes govern access independently of the authorizing member’s permissions.
If expected records are absent, check the connected workspace and the app’s approved scopes.
