Report history ends two UTC dates before each daily sync.
Before you start
- A Microsoft identity that can access the advertiser accounts you want to analyze.
1. Add Microsoft Advertising in Permute
In your workspace, open Connectors, select Add Connector, choose Microsoft Advertising, and name the account.
2. Authorize Microsoft Advertising
- Select Connect with OAuth.
- Sign in through Permute’s Microsoft OAuth application and grant Microsoft Advertising and offline access.
Sign in with a Microsoft identity that can access the advertiser accounts you want. Permute’s OAuth screen requests Microsoft Advertising access and offline access so daily syncs can continue after the browser session ends.
If an advertiser is absent, check the accounts available to that Microsoft identity. Completing OAuth does not add advertising-account access to the user.
Read report dates correctly
The setup screen says Permute refreshes account records and available daily or hourly reports once each day. Production report history ends two UTC dates before each sync. A newer report may therefore be missing even when the connection is healthy.
All tables begin syncing after authorization. After the first sync, choose Select manually in the connector if you need fewer tables.
3. Check the first result
- Confirm a known advertiser is visible to the Microsoft identity used for OAuth.
- Compare a report dated before the two-UTC-date production cutoff.
Available data
| Data group | What the setup screen covers |
|---|---|
| Accounts | Advertiser account records. |
| Reports | Available daily and hourly performance history. |
Allow for report availability
The Permute setup screen says account records and available daily and hourly reports sync once a day. Production report history ends two UTC dates before each sync. A report for yesterday can therefore be absent even when account records are current.
Compare the report date in UTC with that cutoff before treating a gap as a failure. Microsoft’s reporting service handles report generation separately from account access, so an accessible advertiser does not mean every recent report is ready at the same time.
Choose tables after the first sync
All available tables begin syncing after OAuth. Once that first sync ends, the setup screen allows Select manually to limit later syncs. This table choice affects which report groups Permute refreshes; it does not change the Microsoft identity’s account permissions.
When a report group is absent, check the selected tables and its report date. When every group for one advertiser is absent, check account access under the authorized Microsoft identity. These are different causes and need different fixes.

Know what offline access does
Microsoft Advertising OAuth asks for offline access so the approved connection can obtain new access tokens after the initial browser session. This supports the daily refresh described in Permute’s setup screen.
If a user or administrator revokes that consent, return to Permute and authorize the connector again with an identity that still has access to the intended advertiser accounts.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| An advertiser is absent | Check its access for the authorized Microsoft identity. |
| A recent report is absent | Compare its UTC date with the two-date cutoff and check table selection. |
